The Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities Department promotes opportunities for people with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities to live fulfilling lives within their communities. The needs of each person enrolled in the program are assessed and a plan for support is developed and implemented.
Eligibility requirements are a diagnosis of an Intellectual Disability, or Autism, or a developmental disability prior to the age of 9 and a need for supports. Examples of services are employment support, respite, supports for independent living, residential programs, daytime activities, adaptive equipment, and architectural and vehicular adaptations.
All services are dependent on the availability of federal and state funding.

It is the intention of the Cameron/Elk Counties Intellectual Disabilities Program to keep confidential the information that is gathered or generated through the program. All information concerning applicants or participants of Consolidated or PFDS Waiver services will be safeguarded according to provisions as outlined in 42 CFR 431, subpart F.
